Mentors and buddies for youth
To empower the own strength of youth is an important priority in nowadays youth policy. One way to strengthen the own power is the involvement of mentors and buddies. Fifth Steering Group meeting Rotterdam
These two days were partly devoted to strengthening the project, but also to give Oslo and Riga a glimpse into the Rotterdam kitchen. The first day took place at the premises of the Erasmus University Rotterdam, on the 17th floor, so we could have another great view over the city. The highlight of that day was a presentation by Guido Walraven about Dynamics in the City. Walraven is lector at InHolland Hogeschool, a university of
applied sciences in Rotterdam.

Second Steering Group meeting Riga
First day activities were focussed on extra-curriculum activities in the city of Riga. Anita Pēterkopa, Head of General Education Schools Department (Education, Culture and Sports Committee) familiarized the members of the Project with the functions of the Department as well as general principles of organization of education in Latvia and Riga.

Newsletter ISOTIS
ISOTIS is a collaborative project funded by the European Union, which includes 17 partners and 11 countries. The project started in January 2017, and will continue until December 2019. ISOTIS aims to contribute to effective policy and practice development at different system levels in order to effectively combat early arising and persisting educational inequalities.

Introduction
The Erasmus + innovation program aims to further develop and identify innovative community-based solutions to today's challenges for the reduction of Early School Leaving. The project is a strategic partnership aimed at interactive systems within communities in and around schools, in order to strengthen students' ability to finish their education and avoid dropping out later at the secondary levels.
